My Greatest Fear

With the Arctic temperatures covering much of the country runners every where must make a choice; run inside, run outside, or don't run at all. Run outside and you better layer up and take precautions so this does not happen to you. Every mans greatest fear and quite possibly the worst pain one can experience*. When frost bite kicks in and you are 6 miles from home there isn't much you can do except pray and keep running. I am thinking of patenting a sock like glove for protection down there.

*Worst pain a man can experience. I have been yelled at by women on multiple occasions for not mentioning child birth on the list of most painful experiences.

  1. Matt, I can only imagine (and it's difficult to keep it "family oriented") at what your dad would say about this! LOL I would imagine that part of it would include the words that mean something like, but not these particular ones, to "suck it up and quit crying and do the run". Or that's what the runners would have thought he was meaning!

  2. Those of us from the late 70s are quite familiar with the malady of "popsicle co*k" which routinely occurred when the first nylon shorts, with nylon "jock", was introduced to the running world. It may have even happened to the blog poster's father - who may have invented the term.

  3. I have a few pairs of wool socks to keep the feet and lower legs warm. Maybe wool running shorts to go with a wool d*ck sleeve to proper warmth.

  4. the Wolfe twins used to wear their wool hunting pants on winter runs. I have no idea if they also used a wool d*ick sleeve as well.
