Very cook seeing Coach Groves live on video.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the video! It was deja vu... just like sitting in a van with coach going to a meet or a mountain run. Joe Clinton
ReplyDelete@Martha, I agree! I hope to get more captured in HD this year.
ReplyDeleteAnd @Joe, except no one fell out the back door on the way to Beaver Stadium and it didn't burst into flames on the Golf Course! The kids today have no idea what "the van" meant to all of us.
Thanks, for posting that Dave.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that Anderson had a PR of 1:57 going into that race. Someone must have lit a fire under his ass!
7:14.65 1987 Penn Relays (Steve Balkey 1:51.5, Mark Anderson 1:49.2, Chris Mills 1:46.1, Ray Levitre 1:47.85)
I have another clip where I asked him about "the dog poop story" but he couldn't remember. I may never hear it now! But I promise to get more videos like this whenever I can. It's not like Coach will run out of stories.
ReplyDeleteHe couldn't remember the dog-poop story? Are you kidding? Gary Schwartz told it when he spoke at Harry's retirement party.
ReplyDeleteI think I may have video of that speech by Schwartz. The dark recesses of my vault shall be examined! Took me two years to find the Mike Sand's song, this shouldn't take half that!
