More For Comic Book Fans

It seems Archie has always been a member of the Track and Cross Country team at Riverdale High! He even went on to dabble in marathoning and triathlon.  But I don't buy the Betty and Veronica Cross Country competition!
Addendum:  I'm pretty sure that none of them were recruited at 880 U!

    Re the Track Meet Cover:
    The pole vaulter is about to plant his pole in the box apparently located in the middle lane of the track because the standards and bar straddle the track. Also, it appears that some relay is heading on a crash course toward the pit-less vault on the outside of the track while the "60 yards" dash is beginning just behind the standards (perhaps, they will ease hos landing from about 6'6".
    So, I think I know how Reggie got hurt!
    And how 'bout the Nittany Lion imitator being fed up the stands on the far right

    Betty has the best (running) form.
