In 2012 Steve Balkey told me his 1500 meter school record would be broken soon. His time of 3:38.99 had been Penn States best since 1987.
On Sunday night in Palo Alto, CA, Steve's expectation proved accurate.

In case you were wondering, 3:38.82 converts to 3:56.26 for a full mile. Making Kidder the fastest Nittany Lion ever over either distance (although anything can happen in that extra 109 meters).
Other results from the much anticipated Payton Jordan Invitational include two alums. Casimir Loxsom was victorious in heat 1 of the 800 with a 1:48.38. His time was the fifth fastest overall, four ran faster in heat 2*. Kara Foster ran 32:37.19 for 16th in heat 1 of the 10,000.
*Despite what an anonymous commenter on my meet preview had hoped for. No trials and finals at this non-championship meet.

It can be added that Za'Von Watkins was tripped up early in lap 2 of his 800M race (with Cas I think) and was on pace for a nice warm-up to B1G! And Brannon's school record is also the #1 time in the 1500M so far in the NCAA year.
