Here's the email from
Founder and
Keeper of the Beer Clark Haley from January (slightly altered), detailing the particulars for this year's
Reunion and
Coach Groves Golf Tournament:
This is
just a friendly reminder for the 13th annual Harry Groves - Penn State
Track Alumni golf outing. The dates this year will be Friday, May 16th
and Saturday, May 17th.
The event will kick off this year back at Damons (in front of the Hampton Inn) where we have reserved the ground floor
(with the outdoor patio) on Friday night 7 -7:30 and Saturday night
(6:30 - Close). This obviously is a change in venue as the track team
actually has a scheduling conflict this year with Big Tens and will be
out of town - They will all be missed
this year and we can only hope there is no conflict next year.
Golf will be held at the Mountain View Country Club (former Elks Club) again this year with a tee time
scheduled for the crack of noon. We will revert back to the old charge of $150 again
this year which will include your Green Fee and cart on Saturday and
the events on Friday and Saturday night (you're on your own with your choice of beverage however!). This
is a rain or shine event if it rains, there are no rain checks and the
monies go to the endowment fund(s) - (we have never been rained out in
case you were wondering)...
We have a block of rooms already reserved at the Hampton for a
reduced rate but you must indicate "PST" or Penn State Track, when
making your reservation.
Please send your entry fee to Harry Smith, 7793 Hudson Park Drive - Hudson, OH 44236 (preferably prior to May 15th!).
Should be another great year, and as we indicated last year, if a pole vaulter can win this outing, anyone can!
Hope to see you there,
Clark
