For years it has been promulgated by the British Press that there was a very personal hatred between British middle-distance greats Steve Ovett and Sebastian Coe. There's even a movie about the whole thing. Not only did they each beat the other in their competitor's favorite distance, but they also took world records away from each other. One from a privileged background and the other from the hardscrabble British underclass. It does make for a great story, even if a lot of it is hogwash.
Steve Ovett recently commented for the first time about how he really feels about SebCoe.
